Here at Vortex we go to several shows every week, we like to think of ourselves as comedy connoisseurs. Whether it be at the comedy clubs or some of the alt shows we have seen it all. Below are seven of our favorite stand-ups handpicked by the vortex staff.

Marcella Arguello – Marcella is liked by anyone that sees her even while giving her thoughts on controversial topics including race, gender, music, and pop culture. She can be seen regularly at the UCB theater and @midnight on Comedy Central.

Abby Roberge – Abby’s self deprecating jokes about growing up in a hippie commune will make you an instant fan. His Stand-Up and sketches have been viewed over 55 million times. You can see him perform locally at the Hollywood Laugh Factory.

Zainab Johnson – Zainab can make anything in her life funny, whether it be what she did that day or from her childhood you will be laughing. She can be seen regularly at the Improv and as a Semifinalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing.

Chris Garcia – Chris is a LA native born and raised. He can find humor in the most obscure topics as well as get personal. He can be seen on Adam Devine’s House Party on Comedy Central. Check him out live at his show Hey Buddy at the Echoplex.

Jenny Zigrino – Jenny is an unstoppable force on stage, she is quick, witty, and is not afraid to cross the line. You will not forget her hilarious observations and embarrassing moments. She can be seen performing all over LA and in Bad Santa 2.

Ari Mannis – Ari will take you to the dark side and make you feel safe there. You will be sharing his funny stories and opinions with your friends. He can be seen regularly at the Ice House or at his monthly show in his Apartment. You can view him on Greatest Party Stories Ever on MTV.

David Gborie – David moved to LA from San Francisco and killed us with his likability and silliness. His in the moment comedy and analogies are unique and hilarious. He can be seen performing on the east side shows. If you don’t live in LA catch him on Viceland’s Flophouse.
