Imagine stepping up your holiday party plans with a glow-in-the-dark beer. That is exactly what former NASA biologist Josiah Zayner created. He quit his promising career to launch a kit that lets home brewers craft beverages that glow-in-the-dark.

Have you ever wanted to conduct your own science experiment that could make an ordinary party into a memorable? one. Zayner created The Odin one of which is for bioluminescent beer and other products.

The bright green coloring is very intriguing but there’s something more that makes this glow. It is made from a jellyfish gene.

According to the kit’s guide, “a plasmid DNA was added to the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae so that it turns a fluorescent green color.”
